Hi, I’m Camille!

I’m an educator, researcher, facilitator, learning designer, and consultant based in Nashville, TN.

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

The bottom line: I began my work in education with a deep passion to address educational inequity. I remain in education because I’ve come to understand that there is a wealth of knowledge, data, and stories that must be shared to ensure that systems work for those who lead the work and ultimately, for the students they serve. Author and educator Jonathan Kozol’s unflinching examination of inequality in our schools showed me what was at stake: the need to batter down the walls that separate students based on race, class, and zip code. That call became my north star.

Over the past decade, I’ve had the rare opportunity to see American education from every angle. I started in a public school classroom through Teach For America in Eastern North Carolina, where I witnessed firsthand the gaps Kozol wrote about. I moved to charter schools in Nashville, TN, navigating different models of school choice and innovation. And I spent years at Harpeth Hall, a premier independent school for girls, where resources were abundant and possibilities seemed endless. Each setting taught me something profound about what education can be - and what it should be for all students, not just some.

The official line: I am an education consultant specializing in policy, professional learning design, and data-informed decision making. After ten years as a middle school math teacher, I’m leveraging my classroom experience to help shape education systems, support educator development, and ensure that policy decisions are grounded in both evidence and the realities of teaching and learning.

I earned a Master’s degree in Educational Policy and Leadership from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Grand Valley State University. My career has spanned public, charter, and private school settings across the country, giving me a unique perspective on how different educational contexts serve students.

I began my teaching journey in Eastern North Carolina where I discovered my passion for using data to drive instructional decisions. During graduate school, I served as a policy intern with the Data Quality Campaign, working to ensure that everyone from educators to policymakers has access to quality data to improve student outcomes. I created presentations and blog posts on behavioral management systems data, helping translate complex information into actionable insights. Throughout my classroom career, I’ve taken on leadership roles that extend beyond teaching. I served as the Respond to Intervention (RTI) Coordinator at KIPP Academy Nashville, ensuring all students received appropriate math and reading instruction based on their needs.

My time at Harpeth Hall was transformative. As a faculty member, I participated in the New and Emerging Leaders Institute through TAIS, deepening my understanding of school structures, cultures, and leadership. I led the adoption of a math curriculum, collaborating closely with the math department to elevate the quality of instruction across all grade levels. Working in an environment where girls were centered, where resources were abundant, and where curiosity was celebrated showed me what’s possible when we invest fully in students - and it made me even more committed to ensuring all students regardless of zip code, have access to the same level of excellence.

As I transitioned from the classroom, I worked as a Professional Learning Specialist with Amplify, delivering adult learning on the Amplify Desmos Math curriculum. This role allowed me to support educators across the country in implementing high-quality, student-centered math instruction.

My work sits at the intersection of data, storytelling, and learning design. I’m passionate about facilitating professional learning experiences, developing curriculum and policy that centers equity, and helping organizations use data not just to measure, but to understand and improve. Whether through consulting, facilitation, or learning and development work, I’m committed to creating spaces where educators and students can thrive.

I’m from Detroit, MI and yes, I listen to Motown regularly on vinyl! I’m most at home with a fiction novel in hand, lacing up my running shoes for a 5K, 10K, or half marathon, or in the kitchen perfecting my sourdough bread. I loved coaching with Girls on the Run, helping young girls discover their strength both on and off the track. I’m here to bridge the gap between data and humanity, between policy and practice, between what we know and what we do. Every day I wake up energized to learn more about how we can create systems that work for every learner.

  • My presentation, “Girl Math Refigured: Challenging Stereotypes and Inspiring Critical Thinking” was accepted for the International Coalition of Girls’ School Conference in Baltimore, MD in 2024. I explored ‘Girl Math’, a trend that playfully unveils the internal calculation of women. In this session, we encouraged educators to challenge stereotypes and highlight the power girl math holds in the classroom.

  • In 2018, I earned the title of Miss Capital City, and dedicated my year of service to reading across public schools in North Carolina. Through this platform, I traveled across the state giving speeches, lectures, and workshops with business executives and non-profit leaders on the importance of quality education in North Carolina’s most underfunded schools. I lived out my dream to compete for Miss North Carolina. I was even able to share my special talent - playing the Flight of the Bumblebee on piano.

  • In 2026, I have the incredible opportunity to serve as a Fleet Feet Ambassador. Fleet Feet encourages people to run, no matter what you look like and no matter your pace. I attend community events, run all over Nashville with the Fleet Feet Training Group, and share about my running journey on my social media platform - encouraging everyone to move their body!
